We recently spoke with one of our client’s team leaders to obtain some insight into their world, and how our Mapcite Excel Addin product adds value to the day-to-day activities of their business.

How did you hear about Mapcite, and how long have you been using our products?
Our team required better insight via mapping technology so that we could more easily understand and manage our scope of works across states visually, so I began researching online and came across Mapcite’s mapping solutions. The Mapcite website allowed me to leave an enquiry online, and then download the Excel Addin product directly from the site. As a result, we have been using the Mapcite Excel Addin for going on six months now.
Can you tell us a bit more about the business requirement that Mapcite Excel Addin has been able to address?
Our requirement was for better scheduling the roll out of disparate works or projects on the ground, across the many areas and locations in which we do business. We were in need of a platform that could allow us to visually represent up to 7,000 lines of data in bulk and manipulate this information for a better understanding of the different jobs and requirements. Our projects need to be able to be tracked and updated in terms of status labels, or changes, as well as any important information for each of the pieces of work, and Mapcite Excel Addin enables us to do just this, and then represent each job on a map. With two of us using the program, we needed to be able to work quickly and update information for our teams on a daily basis, and the Excel Addin supports our need by enabling us to do just that.
How has the Mapcite Excel Addin added value to your business?
The Mapcite solution allows for easy sharing between our team members and the ability to update data and labels regularly and easily to make sure we are organising our efforts as efficiently as possible. Being able to then consolidate 20 or 30 data tags across different reports down to a single point on a map means that our time is now spent on where the work is and executing decisions quickly and confidently, rather than having to compare schedules and updates across many different reports.
We are able to immediately see the scale of work required, and what kind of processes or regulations we need to be aware of through the visual representations on the generated map. Our work is better tracked, and this means we are able to act proactively and treat our projects more granularly and accurately, and then plan ahead accordingly. Overall this reduces project timelines together with project overheads, leading to improved outcomes for both our business and our clients.
